DSD and Camcon Automotive Develop 2nd Generation Smart Actuator for Park Lock Volume Production

Drive System Design have developed the second generation production intent park lock actuator for Camcon Automotive. This is based on Camcon's Binary Actuation technology which uses an innovative electromagnetic linear actuation system with zero power consumption at both latching conditions.

The smart actuator includes power electronics to providing current control (H-bridge architecture) alongside voltage, current, position and temperature sensing provided on a single line PWM output (5V).

BAT Application for Automotive Park Brake

  • Actuator travel:  8 mm
  • Operating voltage range:  9 /16 V
  • Working temperature:  -40/125 °C
  • Maximum instantaneous current:  50 Amp
  • Minimum latching force:  100 N
  • Actuation force:
    • max. pull out:  80 N
    • max. engagement:  100 N
  • Mass: 450g
