We are recruiting for a Senior Development and Test Technician who will serve a vital role in the successful execution of build, development, and test programs for a wide range of powertrain systems.
You’ll be operating in a fast paced project environment, needing technical, commercial and customer management skills whilst collaborating with some of the most innovative people, companies, and technologies on the planet. What you will need
You will have:
- Experience in powertrain or rotating machinery testing or test cells, including the set-up of test equipment and fixturing.
- Electric vehicle systems testing and or troubleshooting experience
- Experience in the operation of test cell control systems
- Knowledge of sensor and instrumentation installation and general principles
- Experience diagnosing electrical systems and automotive communications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an electro-mechanical test environment
Desirable:
- Metal fabrication skills, including welding, milling, and lathe operation
- Experience in LabVIEW and/or Veristand programming and test systems
- Experience in NVH and/or rotating machine dynamics
- Experience in electrical machine testing and acquisition, including power analyzers

Key Responsibilities
You will be:
- Supporting projects in all aspects of the development and testing of prototype transmissions, test rigs and demonstration vehicles
- Leading the installation and commissioning of DSD’s test facilities as needed for various projects
- Coordinating with Engineers and Project Leads to communicate project execution progress and development and test requirements
- Building and operating transmission and component test rigs, to expected standards and to the project plan, including data acquisition and instruments
- Fabricating and modifying components using the appropriate workshop equipment, or working with external sources for fabrication needs
- Performing controlled build and teardown activities in accordance with DSD’s procedures and customer requirements
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment for yourself and the other engineers and technicians at DSD
- Continuously improving DSD standard procedures and facilities to improve project execution, quality, and safety
