Leading consultancy extends control engineering capability at Michigan office

Farmington Hills, MI, USA, August 16th 2017 – Drive System Design (DSD) Inc. has further enhanced its control engineering capabilities with the appointment of Jason Schneider to the position of Senior Control Engineer. Schneider will spearhead the development of a transmission and driveline control group for DSD Inc. as part of Drive System Design’s ongoing expansion of its capabilities in Michigan. This will give US transmission manufacturers local access to the same level of expertise in high efficiency drivelines and transmissions, as that already provided by the company’s UK facility.

Speaking about the appointment Schneider said, “this is a unique opportunity to grow a control group within an organization, combining both new business development and the technical delivery of programs.”

Formerly with AVL Powertrain Engineering, Plymouth, MI, Schneider graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with a Masters of Engineering Degree in Energy Systems Engineering. This latest appointment follows a string of new appointments made by DSD on both sides of the Atlantic.

“Our expansion is being supported by recruitment in all areas and combined headcount will soon pass the 100 mark,” explained Jon Brentnall, President, Drive System Design Inc. “In Schneider’s case, he will be able to leverage his existing technical experience in algorithm development while forming relationships with new and existing customers, by delivering control projects throughout North America.”
