A Collaborative, Cost-Effective & Rapid Approach

Delivering rapid and cost-effective control solutions is becoming one of the most common demands in industry.

DSD’s extensive experience in a range of transmission topologies across a variety of market sectors combines the right experience, attitudes and project management skills required to collaborate with customers to fulfil their requirements.

A recent customer project has seen DSD support the initial assessment of a product issue, going on to develop a control system solution which mitigated expensive and timely hardware modifications late on in the programme.

Integrated Control System Development

An established team of control engineers combined with the extensive facilities offered at DSD (including a HIL suite and multiple test rigs) enables a consistent and effective approach to undertaking all the required V cycle activities: from defining requirements through to full control system testing and sign-off.

Our technically skilled control engineers are able to perform accurate element characterisation to ensure high quality products are achieved.

We can also provide additional vehicle calibration support, if required, to ensure shift quality targets are met to the satisfaction of customers.

Dynamic Simulation

Our simulation-led approach has resulted in a wealth of experience developing dynamic simulation models. These models enable engineering teams to optimise crucial system attributes, enabling risk mitigation prior to prototype or production.

Some examples include 1D torsional modelling, clutch damping characteristics, shaft compliance, rattle simulations, vehicle models, or motor actuation to perform shifts.
